A: Ignore this part.
Q: Passengers may move from MY vehicle to another?
A: Yes. Think of the final chase in Road Warrior. :-D
Q: What if one of my guys jumped onto a vehicle with a ring mount... i.e. no roof? does he fall INTO the car?
A: Yes, but he wouldn't necessarily be in a seat.
Q: How would combat be resolved between peds INside a car?
A: Normal HTH combat. The fact that the car is moving has no relevance,
at least in this event.
Q: Are there windows in these cars?
A: Yes, but no glass.
Q: Engine accessories are 'extremely rare.' How much do they cost? 'rare' is 2X and 'very rare' is 4X.
A: It's not covered in the rules, so let's go with the next extrapolation
and say 8x.
Q: What if two people score a 'hit' in the same phase?
A: This goes for "regular" Car Wars as well... Since combat is simultaneous, if 2 "hits" are scored at the same time, you randomly determine which one to apply first. This can make a big difference in regular CW to determine who scored the kill or which hazard made it lose control, etc.
In this case, the "first person" to score a hit becomes it. Technically,
if 3 cars score a hit in the same phase, the first one would become it,
then the other 2 would be hitting a car that's not it anymore.
Q: What is the HC penalty for driving on grass?
A: As explained in the rule page, there will be no damage for this particular
area. Adopted from the CWC2.5 rulebook: All maneuvers are at +D1. Max HC
& recovery go down by 3 while off-road. You don't drop 3 for going
off-road, though that is a D2 hazard, unless your new max is lower than
your current HC. Then you drop, but it doesn't count as a hazard.
Q: Are you using the grenade scatter rules for molotov cocktails?
A: Yes. They are thrown just like a grenade, so they scatter. They don't
bounce, but they may or may not hit "on target."
Q: Are passengers in a car affected by burst effects OUTside of the car?
A: Not if they are behind vehicular armor. If all the armor on that side is gone, then they are affected.
Ped's can be targeted at -5, but that doesn't mean there's no armor,
just that they can be "seen and fired upon."
Q: Can we toss a grenade through a window? What would be the penalty? -4? -5?
A: You can target an occupant with a grenade. This would be at the normal
-5 to hit.
Q: The pike (a spear?) has a range of 2 squares. How about the other melee weapons? I'm guessing you'd have to be in the adjacent square.
A: Correct.
Q: If two cars are RIGHT next to each other, can I stab the guy through the windows?
A: You can target an occupant with a melee weapon. This would be at
the normal -5 to hit.
Q: Since the body of the car is metal and rated as having protection capabilities in the C&C rules, do we get a 'free' point? I buy 4, but list 5?
A: Yes.
Q: Can one person use another as GE storage space? Can a passenger remove a grenade from the driver and toss it? How about guns? Perhaps a firing action to take a gun from the driver?
A: Yes to both. These things can only be taken from a willing holder
or someone who is incapacitated. You can't "steal" weapons from an enemy
unless he hands it to you. And yes, a firing action should be fair.
Q: Can the driver wear a backpack and may the passenger take items from it?
A: No. The rules clearly say a worn backpack must be "put down" to add/remove
things. This will apply in this event as well. If you're in a vehicle,
you my take it off and open it in the vehicle.
Q: What about skill points?
A: Per standard Car Wars, 30 points each with a maximum of 20 in any
given skill.
Q: Can I place the engine where I want it?
A: No. To preserve the antiquity nature of this event, all vehicles
will have the Engine in the front, tank in the back, and Driver on the
left. You may place Gunners/Passengers anywhere else you want.
Q: How is the damage for Molotov Cocktails handled?
A: When it hits, the exact square it lands on and every adjoining square (forming a 3/4" square) is on fire. It burns for 5 phases. Pedestrians take one die of damage, vehicles and tires take half-damage.
If one hits on top of a car, the top armor takes half damage. This is considered hand weapon fire so the “metal” skin will still count as double. If damage goes through, it will be assessed normally.
If one is thrown into a car, all crew members take 1 die of damage. Body armor will protect against this damage.
A Molotov has no fire mod/burn duration, but it will cause a fire to a vehicle if the engine is hit. It counts as a volatile weapon hit on an engine for purposes of setting fires.
A Molotov is also no hazard to drive over, though the damage from one
can cause a hazard like enemy fire. Being on one also does *not* increase
hazards/maneuvers as FO and the like do.
